Nahum Kisner has spent 15 years in higher education serving in a range of leadership and student‑support roles. He currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Student Success at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where first‑generation initiatives are a key part of his portfolio. In this capacity, he provides strategic direction for university wide efforts focused on wrap‑around support services, career engagement, retention, and college completion. His work has included leading and strengthening programs such as first‑year experience, success coaching, cohort‑based support initiatives, academic advising, and enrollment and retention strategies.

A proud native of Houston, Texas, Nahum earned his BA while competing as a student‑athlete at a liberal arts college in Ohio—an experience that shaped his commitment to access, belonging, and the success of students who are the first in their families to attend college. He later completed his MA in Counseling at the University of Phoenix. Throughout his career, he has remained deeply dedicated to ensuring that student success drives every decision he makes.

Outside of work, Nahum can usually be found cheering on his two sons at their sporting and extra-curricular activities or at home rooting for his Texas Longhorns.
