Parenting students are almost 4 million undergraduates who face many challenges in higher education. A significant number of this population ar women of color, single parents, and work over 30 hours per week. Student parents are highly motivated and tend to have higher GPAs than non-parenting peers, but they are 10 times less likely to complete a degree due to lack of support. Raising awareness about this population is important for their postsecondary success.
