City College of San Francisco's First-Generation College Celebration
2018 First-Generation College Celebration
The Writing Success Project (a TRIO SSS program) invited first-generation students to write and share messages about what motivates them to be first-generation college students. Students participated at the college's Cultural Appreciation Day, and students enrolled in the program. Also, the Peer Mentors coordinated a First-Generation Celebration in the WSP office.

For the 2019 celebration, the City College of San Francisco is planning to have a similar First-Generation College Celebration and honor the first-generation students by inviting them to share their "Why I'm First" message. Plans are already in motion to hold a discussion forum, to be videotaped, of first-generation students discussing their experience, motivation, challenges, and advice.
