Sense of Belonging and Community Cultural Wealth Workshop – First Scholars

This workshop has been developed specifically with first-generation students in mind.  Whether delivered virtually, hybrid, or in-person, this offering facilitates guided discussion around the important role sense of belonging plays for undergraduate first-generation students in acclimation to a new environment or system. This workshop also draws on Community Cultural Wealth, an asset-based theoretical framework, to highlight the vital capital first-generation students bring to their higher education experience and how they can utilize this capital for success.
